Over the past decade aquaculture production in Australia has increased more than 200% to over 38,000 tonnes in 2000/2001.

There has been a 400% increase in the value of production to $730 million.

An Industry-Government Action Agenda has been formed to assist the industry reach a value of $2.5 billion by 2010.

South Australia's share of this target is $1 billion.
